Community Settings

Overview

Community Settings allow you to control:

  • Group creation and access
  • Posting permissions
  • Content moderation
  • Reporting thresholds

To access:

  1. Go to Community Menu
  2. Select Settings

Group Settings

Allow Customer-Created Groups

You can:

  • Enable customers to create their own groups
  • Require admin approval before new groups become visible

Default Group Type

Set the default access type for new groups:

  • Open – Anyone can join and view content
  • Closed – Users must request to join
  • Restricted – Users must have a specific tag to join

Choose the option that aligns with your community strategy.

Post Settings

Control what types of content members can post.

You can:

  • Enable or disable posts entirely
  • Require post approval (manual review before publishing)
  • Allow comments
  • Allow polls
  • Allow image posts
  • Allow video posts
  • Set maximum number of poll options

Note: All content is AI-moderated by default. Manual approval is optional.

Content Filtering

Configure moderation and filtering rules.

Enable Content Filtering

When enabled, posts are checked against:

  • Blacklisted words
  • Swear word lists

Additional Options

  • Allow or block links in posts
  • Set default language for swear word filtering

You can configure blacklists and swear word lists separately in AI Moderation settings.

User Report Settings

Control how user-submitted reports affect content visibility.

You can set thresholds for:

  • Number of anonymous reports required to flag content
  • Number of logged-in user reports required to flag content
  • Total number of reports required to automatically hide content

How Reporting Works

When users report content:

  • Reports accumulate
  • Once thresholds are met, content is flagged or auto-hidden
  • Admins can review flagged content

Best Practices

  • Enable AI moderation at all times.
  • Use manual post approval for highly regulated brands.
  • Set reasonable report thresholds to prevent abuse.
  • Restrict links if spam becomes an issue.
  • Use Restricted groups for VIP or segmented communities.

Community Settings give you full control over engagement, moderation, and member interactions.
