Set Up Community Leaderboards

Overview

Leaderboards create healthy competition within your Community by showcasing top point earners.

You can display rankings based on:

  • Community engagement
  • Purchases
  • Custom point actions

Leaderboards motivate users to participate, earn points, and climb the rankings.


Access Leaderboards

  1. Go to Community Menu
  2. Select Leaderboard
  3. Click Create Leaderboard

Create a Leaderboard

1. Add Basic Information

Enter:

  • Leaderboard Name
  • Description

2. Set Scope

Choose who the leaderboard applies to:

  • All Community Members
  • Specific Groups

You can create multiple leaderboards (e.g., one per group).


3. Set Time Period

Choose how rankings reset:

  • Weekly (resets every week)
  • Monthly (resets on the first of each month)
  • Custom Date Range
  • All-Time

4. Select Point Source

Determine which points count toward rankings:

  • All points
  • Community actions only
  • Purchase points only
  • Custom action types

5. Set Display Positions

Choose how many users appear on the leaderboard:

  • Top 10
  • Top 20
  • Top 100
  • Custom amount

6. Minimum Participation Requirement

Optionally set:

  • A minimum number of points required to appear on the leaderboard

Manage Leaderboards

Once created, you can:

  • Edit the leaderboard
  • Toggle visibility On/Off
  • Update settings as needed

Add Leaderboard to Navigation

To make the leaderboard visible in the app:

  • Add it to your navigation
  • A common placement is the Account Menu
  • Set visibility for signed-in users

Best Practices

  • Use weekly leaderboards to drive short-term engagement.
  • Use monthly leaderboards for sustained competition.
  • Highlight leaderboard winners in Community posts.
  • Restrict some leaderboards to VIP or specific groups.
  • Ensure visibility is enabled for logged-in users.

Leaderboards help gamify your Community and encourage ongoing engagement and loyalty.
