Set Up Deep Links

Overview

Deep Links route users directly to specific in-app content — even if they need to install the app first.

Deep links help:

  • Reduce drop-off
  • Increase conversion
  • Improve attribution tracking
  • Deliver personalized user journeys

Unlike App Clips (Instant Experiences), deep links require the app to be installed — but full attribution is still tracked.


Access Deep Links

  1. Go to Marketing Menu
  2. Select Instants
  3. Click Create Instant

Create a Deep Link

1. Add Basic Details

Enter:

  • Name (e.g., “Summer Sale Deep Link”)
  • Description

2. Choose Type

Select:

  • Deep Link

Note: Deep links require the app to be installed.
If you want a no-download experience, use App Clip instead.


3. Choose Destination

Select where the deep link should route users:

  • Specific page
  • Product
  • Collection
  • Category
  • Home page
  • Custom URL

This determines where users land after tapping the link.


4. Configure Link Slug

Enter a slug, such as: summer-sale

This forms part of your shareable link.


5. Add UTM Parameters (Optional)

For campaign tracking, you can include:

  • Source
  • Medium
  • Campaign
  • Term
  • Content

This enables performance measurement across marketing channels.


6. Set Conversion Goal

Choose a conversion goal to track performance:

  • Page visit
  • Add to cart
  • Start checkout
  • Purchase

If no goal is selected:

  • Only link opens will be tracked.

7. Create Deep Link

Click Create Instant to finalize.

You can now promote your deep link across:

  • Email campaigns
  • SMS campaigns
  • Paid ads
  • Social media
  • Influencer partnerships
