Create Community Rewards

Overview

After configuring Points Per Action, the next step is creating Rewards that users can redeem with their points.

Rewards allow customers to exchange earned points for:

  • Discounts
  • Free shipping
  • Free products
  • Custom incentives

Access Rewards

  1. Go to Community Menu
  2. Select Rewards

Create a New Reward

1. Add Basic Details

Enter:

  • Reward Name
  • Description

This helps you easily identify the reward internally and ensures customers understand what they’re redeeming.


2. Select Reward Type

Available reward types:

  • Discount Code
  • Free Shipping
  • Free Product
  • Custom Reward

For Discount Code and Free Shipping rewards:

  • Shopify discounts are automatically created and synced.

Configure Reward Details

Set Points Cost

Define how many points a user must earn before redeeming the reward.


Set Discount Type (If Applicable)

Choose:

  • Percentage Off
  • Fixed Amount Off

Enter the appropriate value.


Advanced Reward Settings

You can configure additional restrictions and controls:

Purchase Restrictions

  • Minimum purchase amount
  • Apply to:
    • Entire order
    • Specific products
    • Specific collections

Usage Limits

  • Limit redemptions per customer
  • Limit total reward quantity
  • Set points expiration (after a number of days)

Redemption Location

Choose where the reward can be used:

  • App only
  • In-store only
  • App and in-store

Level Requirements

If using customer levels:

  • Restrict rewards to specific levels
  • Create exclusive perks for higher-tier users

Activate the Reward

Once configured:

  1. Enable the reward
  2. Click Save

Customer Experience

Users will see a Rewards Page within the app where they can:

  • View available rewards
  • Track their point balance
  • See rewards they qualify for
  • View rewards they can work toward

Best Practices

  • Offer a mix of easy-to-redeem and aspirational rewards.
  • Align discount value with profit margins.
  • Use level-based rewards to encourage long-term loyalty.
  • Set reasonable expiration dates to drive urgency.
  • Clearly describe reward terms.
