Create and Manage Community Groups

Overview

Community Groups allow you to tailor messaging and engagement to specific audiences within your app.

Groups help you:

  • Target niche customer segments
  • Share exclusive content
  • Create private or restricted spaces
  • Improve personalization within Community

Create a New Group

1. Access Groups

  1. Go to Community Menu
  2. Select Groups
  3. Click Create New Group

2. Configure General Settings

When creating a group, you’ll define:

  • Group Name
  • Description

Set Group Access Type

You can choose from three access levels:

Open

  • Anyone can join
  • Anyone can view content

Closed

  • Users must join to view content
  • Admin approval may be required

Restricted

  • Users must have a specific tag
  • Only tagged users can join

Choose the option that best fits your audience and content strategy.


Customize Group Appearance

You can personalize your group’s look by setting:

  • Cover Image
  • Avatar
  • Icon
  • Background Color
  • Preset Color Schemes

A preview is available so you can see how the group will appear in the app.


Manage Join Requests (Closed Groups)

For Closed Groups:

  • Users must request to join
  • You will receive a notification
  • You must approve access before the user can participate

This ensures content stays limited to approved members.


Best Practices

  • Use Open groups for general engagement.
  • Use Closed groups for VIP or loyalty members.
  • Use Restricted groups for tagged users (e.g., ambassadors, wholesale buyers).
  • Keep group branding consistent with your overall app theme.
  • Review join requests promptly to maintain engagement.
